Wellness Policy
Adopted June 6th, 2006
| It is the purpose of the Board of
Education by this policy to implement the Local Wellness Policy (Federal
Public Law PL108.265 Section 204).
The Corona-Norco Unified School District is committed to providing a school environment that enhances learning and development of lifelong wellness practices.
A. To accomplish these goals:
1. Child Nutrition Programs comply with federal, state, and local requirements. Child Nutrition Programs are accessible to all children.
2. Sequential and interdisciplinary nutrition education is provided and promoted.
3. Patterns of meaningful physical activity connect to students' lives outside of physical education.
4. School-based activities are encouraged to comply with the local wellness policy goals.
5. Foods and beverages on campus (including vending, concessions, a la carte, student stores, parties, and fundraising) during the school day are consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and comply with legislative requirements.
6. Employees will be encouraged to model the goals of the local wellness policy.
